Vivian Gettliffe: Certified Rolfer

Vivian Gettliffe
Boulder Rolfer

Vivian Gettliffe practices Rolfing® structural integration in Boulder, Colorado, serving clients in the Denver Metro and Boulder County areas from a serene North Boulder studio. She became a RolferTM because of the huge difference that Rolfing SI has made in her own life. Vivian is passionate about the potential of Rolfing SI to improve quality of life.

“As a Rolfer, I am privileged to witness profound and long-lasting changes happening in the bodies of my clients. 100% of clients who participated in a post-series survey reported that the pain or symptoms they had before beginning the series became less severe and less frequent.”

Vivian works in close collaboration with clients to ensure that the broad range of touch feels like a welcome invitation to change. Most clients find Rolfing structural integration with Vivian to be a pleasurable experience. For clients investing in the full strategic series, ongoing recommendations provide resources and options to complement the series, ensuring that progress is sustainable.

In addition to training and certification from the Rolf Institute for Structural Integration in Boulder, Colorado, Vivian is also a Board Certified Structural Integrator and a member of the International Association of Structural Integrators. Vivian has studied extensively with Rolfer and trauma therapist Darrell Sanchez, also of Boulder, in addition to other continuing education related to structural integration, trauma therapy and psychology. She recently completed the Neuro Orthopaedic Institute’s “Explain Pain” training which explicates the experience of pain from a neurological standpoint.

Unresolved trauma is often present in cases of chronic pain. Dealing with the stress of pain on a daily basis is itself traumatic. If the pain is related to an injury, the trauma of the injury and the body’s defense mechanisms may perpetuate patterns of ongoing pain even after the injury is healed. Other traumatic events or life circumstances may also sensitize the nervous system in a reactive loop of tension and muscular constriction patterns that cause pain. Using a trauma-sensitive approach to Rolfing structural integration, Vivian gently and sensitively addresses restrictions and patterns to help the body rediscover its own wisdom and ability to access a state of structural well-being.
